Capital Planning Committee

The Capital Planning Committee was created on the voters' advice at the 2016 town meeting, for the purpose of developing a capital plan for projected highway, emergency services and town infrastructure and buildings expenditures; creating a detailed capital funding strategy that relies on a variety of funding sources; and recommending to the Selectboard options to fund the town’s future capital expenditures on an annual basis.

Financial Management Committee

The purpose of the Financial Management Committee is to explore, research and develop financial management policies and procedures that will help the Town of Pomfret establish more consistent and disciplined practices around financial management and reporting, safeguard the town’s resources, educate and guide public officials to make more informed decisions. Establishing routine policies & procedures will allow the Town to establish greater predictability and public confidence in the Town’s financial operations

Town Hall Revitalization Committee

The Town Hall Revitalization Committee is charged with assessing the Town Hall’s historic functionality and collecting community feedback and engagement regarding ongoing utilization of the Town Hall by the public as a community center; providing this information to the Town to maximize the impact of efforts to improve the Town Hall’s functionality; and strengthening connections within the Pomfret community. 

Vermont 250th Anniversary Committee

The Vermont 250th Anniversary Committee is Pomfret's liaison to the Vermont 250th Anniversary Commission and is charged with coordinating with the Commission on such activities as the Committee deems appropriate, and with planning, encouraging, developing, coordinating, and promoting observances and activities to be held locally in commemoration of the the 250th anniversary of the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Revolutionary War between 1775 and 1777, the founding of Vermont in 1777, and the creation of the political foundations of the United States of America.
